About AIA UNSW
The current AIA UNSW group started in 2004 and since has been actively promoting human rights issues and the work of Amnesty International. Each year we focus on one or two campaigns that are particularly topical and relevant both locally and globally. AI UNSW organise events on campus to promote and publicise these human rights issues and encourage the student population to take action through petitions and letter writing.
We work closely with Amnesty International Australia and many of our campus group members have experience volunteering or working in the AIA Activist Resource Centre.
Meetings:
Amnesty International UNSW meetings alternate between Monday and Wednesday every week from 2-3 pm at the Unibar. Week 9 meeting will be held on Monday.
However, if you are concerned about being unable to attend the meetings, you're welcome to send an e-mail expressing your interest to participate in the group and we will include you in our mailing list. The minutes of our meetings are also sent out to members so you'll always be informed of what's going on.
Membership:
Anyone can join AIA UNSW at one of our meetings or stalls. The annual membership fee is $5 which funds AIA UNSW campaigns and events.
Note: if you have signed up as a member but have not been receiving our monthly emails - please let us know at amnesty@unsw.edu.au.
